Tim works closely with business owners, investors and their families. He has served on corporate advisory boards, as company secretary for both public and private companies and hold various directorships with private companies.
Tim’s corporate experience, together with his upbringing in a family immersed in the trials and tribulations of small business life, has given him a deep insight and understand of business owners and their families in a way that has a material and enduring impact.
He has lead several investigative reviews into large profit and not-for-profit organisations, including a comprehensive financial and operational review of an under-performing but substantial regional hospitality group, confidential and sensitive review into a large and high profile NFP group that owns and operates several “for profit” business units, review into an under-performing semi-government educational body with a broad range of key stakeholders, presentations to the members of a sporting body with a focus on profitable operation of their business divisions and much more.
Tim has also assisted clients with a variety of transactional based work, including the sale of a business to a large multinational corporate based in the UK, the sale of a business to a large multinational based in the USA, negotiating with an overseas based private equity group on the sale of an Australian business, several due diligence reviews on behalf of buyers and sellers to a transaction and business valuation work on behalf of director and shareholder groups.
Doreen’s accounting journey is interesting and unique but has convinced her that the diversity of work and client exposure was a great way to develop her career in private practice. Working in a free and creative organisation like MAA is a challenge but it is the one that she values the most.
She has a broad range of experiences in a wide variety of industries and using the experience earn over the years to assist her clients in achieving their goals, solving their problems and delivering quality service and advice is something she finds extremely rewarding. All clients are different and it is crucial to be committed in making sure each client’s unique objectives and expectations are met.
Doreen work’s extensively with small to medium sized businesses, providing advice and assistance in income tax planning, outsourced CFO roles, internal finance systems, preparation of financial statements and income tax returns and strategic tax minimisation and wealth planning.
Anne graduated from University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). She joined the team in 2012 and is currently enrolled in the CPA professional program. Anne is action and outcome focussed and provides advice in management of business expenses, accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, financial analysis and also works closely with business owners in a combination of tax and accounting functions, including tax position management, monthly financial reporting and tax planning. She also has great experience in transitioning clients to cloud based accounting programs.
Amber graduated from the University of South Australia in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, where she majored in Tourism and Event Management. After working in the tourism and hospitality industry for a number of years, Amber returned to university to undertake postgraduate study and is now completing a Master of Professional Accounting. Amber joined McCormack Accountants & Advisors in early 2014 and enjoys working for a dynamic firm where she can put theory to practice in a professional accounting environment. Her hospitality experience has served her well, with a strong focus on client service being a key strength, supported with excellent technical skills.
